Get to know this devoted student through the 10 questions below.
1. Tell us about your family.
I am the third of four children for my mom. When I was 9 years old, my dad separated from my mom. I continued to live with my mom until the tragedy of April 19, but I’ve always preferred living with my dad. For now, I’m living with an older brother (my dad’s son) in Merjay. My mom lives in Mirebalais with my other brother and sisters.

2. What do you remember about your earliest years at GES?
My first memory of GES was helping with the Christmas party in December 2015. That was a beautiful moment for me. I also have a photo of my 6th grade class that is my favorite souvenir.
3. What motivates you to continue with school?
My dreams have kept me motivated, because I would like to become a great tailor and a great engineer. And a lawyer. I also hope to go to teaching school.
4. How has the attack on Source Matelas on April 19 impacted your life?
When the attack started, I was taking exams at school. I fled with the school, but later returned. Despite all the gunfire, my dad and I slept at the school that night because we didn’t know where else to go. Once I could make contact with my mom the next day, I spent 4 days with her in Cabaret. After that we went to Mirebalais, but I just spent one night there. The next day I went to stay with my older brother who lives in Merjay.
While living with my brother and my two nephews, I adapted quickly to the situation. I took on the housework and tried to take care of everything for my brother because I didn’t have anywhere else to go. When school reopened in Arcahaie in June, I came and lived at the school. We slept in one of the classrooms when it was night, me and my dad.
5. How did you spend your time over the last two months when school was closed?
I registered for a sewing class but it never started. I took some lessons for some of the senior class material on my phone.
6. Who has had the greatest impact on your life?
My dad is a huge source of motivation for me. I pray God gives him a long life.
Ralph [formerly the dean at GES, now JiHM’s logistics coordinator] is a role model for me. I appreciate how he uses his authority and his work ethic.
And my friend Eugene gives me the best advice. He always encourages me to not compromise who I am, but to always change to improve myself.

7. Who in your life is most proud of you?
My dad. Because I always respect him.
8. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
Isaiah 25:8: The Lord will wipe all the tears from our eyes.
9. Is there anything you would like to say to your sponsors?
Thank you for all the years you’ve contributed to my education. Thanks for all that you’ve done for me. I hope God blesses you and all your family.
10. How can we pray for you?
Pray for this coming year for the government exams, that I can get a top score across the whole country.
