Classroom Champions invest in the success of an entire classroom—providing the tools, nourishment, and support needed for learning to flourish.

Why Classroom Champions?

Student sponsorships remain vital to the school, but many students no longer have a sponsor due to rising instability and relocation.

Since the school’s displacement in 2023, the needs have never been greater for the students, and Grace Emmanuel School needs more partners to serve students as holistically as possible.

Classroom Champions help fill the gap—supporting an entire classroom with:

Textbooks and essential classroom supplies

Well-equipped teachers who follow Jesus

Special student care, like hygiene and medical support

Enrichment activities

Nutritious daily meals and more

Your monthly sponsorship of $25 or more supports one full classroom of students, offering hope where it’s needed most.

When you sign up, you’ll receive a photo of the class you support and the students’ first names so you can pray for them through a school year—or journey with them all the way to graduation.

FAQ

How much does it cost to become a Classroom Champion?

You can become a Classroom Champion for $25 or more per month. Multiple sponsors may support the same classroom, and every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

How is my donation used?

Your monthly gift helps cover the costs of providing an education for the students in your classroom, including fair wages for dedicated teachers, books, special activities, and school supplies. Your giving also supplements student care, which helps provide a medical supplies and personnel and other interventions for the most vulnerable students.

Can I write to the students I support?

Yes! We would love for you to send letters to encourage the whole class with Scripture and God’s love. The students will not write back (check out student sponsorship if you’re interested in that option), but they will be so encouraged to know a team of people is praying for their success.

How long does my partnership last?

We encourage Champions to commit to at least one year to help sustain support for each classroom. However, you may adjust or cancel your giving at any time.

Can I choose which class I’m supporting?

Yes! Just mention which class in the comments box on the sign up form. There are two levels of PreK, Kindergarten, 1st–9th grades, and then Secondary I, II, III, and IV (equivalent to 10th-13th grades). If you don’t specify, we will choose for you. Your support will advance with this class next year, but if you’d like to just continue supporting a certain grade level indefinitely, you can do that, too. Just let us know.

Will I receive updates from my classroom?

While Classroom Champions do not receive regular, personalized updates, you will receive an updated class photo every fall and JiHM’s monthly e-newsletter, which contains school-wide updates and stories to help you see the impact of your support.

Can I visit the classroom I’m supporting?

Unfortunately, we have not been able to host visitors at Grace Emmanuel School since 2019 because of the insecurity. We pray this becomes an opportunity again in the future.

Is my support tax-deductible?

Yes. Jesus in Haiti Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an annual giving statement for tax purposes.
