“The only means for me to learn”: An invitation to spring into sponsorship

More than one in five students at Grace Emmanuel School are waiting for a sponsor.

Nine-year-old Dieuma is one of them.

Dieuma grew up in Source Matelas, but when gangs attacked her neighborhood in 2023, her family was forced to flee. Today, she lives in Arcahaie with her parents and brother, rebuilding life in a place that still feels fragile. Families remain not because conditions are safe or stable, but because options are few.

Before coming to Grace Emmanuel School this year, Dieuma attended another local school where there was no food, no clean drinking water, and tuition her family struggled to afford.

Now, she has daily meals. Safe water. A classroom where she feels welcomed.

And her parents don’t have to pay.

“A free education means so much to me. It lifts a great burden from my parents because they don’t have the resources. It’s the only means for me to learn.”

Dieuma dreams of becoming a nurse so she can help her whole family.

For her parents, a free education brings relief in the midst of financial strain. For Dieuma, it opens the door to future possibility — while providing steady stability right now.

For so many children in Haiti, school has become the only consistent, predictable part of the day. Yet at the same time, it has never been more costly to keep our doors open.

Today, more than one in five students at Grace Emmanuel School is still waiting for a sponsor.

Will you partner with Grace Emmanuel School to help keep this lifeline open?

Two Ways to Make a Difference

This spring, you can help a student like Dieuma continue learning and dreaming.

Sponsor an Individual Student

Build a personal connection with a specific child and support their education, meals, supplies, and care for $45/month.

Join Classroom Champions

Support an entire classroom for $25/month or more and provide the tools and support needed for learning to flourish.

When you partner with Grace Emmanuel School, you are not just covering tuition.

You are providing stability in instability, normalcy in the middle of chaos, and daily access to the best gift of all—the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You are reminding a child they are seen, known, and worth investing in.

This spring, would you consider stepping into a student’s story?
